The first season starred Lee DongWook (aged 39) , Jo BoAh (30), and Kim Bum (32), telling the tale of a nine-tailed fox (gumiho) who settled down in the city and of the producer who chases after him.The second season is going to be set during the Japanese colonial era (1910-1945) and the third season will be set during the Joseon dynasty. The second season’s director has been confirmed as Kang ShinHyo and will have 16 episodes. The remaining details about the cast and lineup have not been confirmed yet. Another interesting change is that the female lead will be recast. Which leaves the question, “Who will play the new female lead in this fantasy-action romance?” Here are some actresses (in no particular order) who we think would make the perfect female lead for the upcoming seasons of “Tale of The Nine Tailed”. 1. Park ShinHye
Park ShinHye is 31 years old and has shown her duality over multiple roles, including her latest two K-Dramas “Memories of the Alhambra” and “Sisyphus: The Myth”. Both dramas portray very different vibes on two separate ends of the genre spectrum.“Tale of the Nine Tailed” would be an interesting middle ground and new side of Park ShinHye to see. Park ShinHye and Lee DongWook are also a duo that we’re sure many K-Drama fans have been dying to see on screen together.
2. IU
IU is 28 years old and has proven herself as an actress throughout her various K-Drama roles. We saw how well she pulled off her character in the hit K-Drama series “Hotel Del Luna” and it makes us curious how she would portray a role in this type of fantasy-action drama. It would also be an added bonus if she got to record a song for the drama’s OST.
3. Lee SungKyung
Lee SungKyung is 31 years old and known for taking on refreshing characters that make us fall into their very unique persona. She has taken on many genres and it would be interesting to see her in a fantasy-action drama. Not to mention that she is beautiful and her visuals alongside Lee DongWook would be a sight to see.
4. Kwon Nara
Kwon Nara is 30 years old and another stunning candidate for this new female lead character. Her visuals would be well-suited to this type of drama and she has also been experimenting with various roles and K-Drama genres recently. It would be interesting to see her in a fantasy role.
5. Shin HyeSun
Shin HyeSun is 32 years old and carries an aura that would be fitting of this drama. She makes you fall into her performance with her convincing acting and emotive expressions.
