Hwang MinHyun (former NU’EST and Wanna One member) is starting his successful acting career (aside from Musical). He debuted in acting in 2020 with the drama “Live On”, a high school romance where he was acting as the strict and cold Ko EunTaek (lead role).It is with his following project that he is stealing even more hearts with his role of Seo Yul in the worldwide popular drama “Alchemy Of Souls”. He is acting as the genius nobleman of the Seo Clan, one of the most powerful clans in the fantasy world of DaeHo. His character is overly perfect in everything and has a secret love for Naksu who is now in the body of MuDeok (acted by Jung SoMin).For this role in the drama, he went through a lot of training for acting scenes as his character is talented at fighting with two swords. With all his hard work, he filmed a lot of beautiful scenes. Here are the moments Hwang MinHyun as Seo Yul made us scream.
1. Fighting Jang Wook with dual swords
The fight between Seo Yul and Jang Wook (Lee JaeWook) was spectacular.
2. Romantic umbrella scene
MuDeok could not enter Songrim to stay with Jang Wook and stayed in front of the door in the pouring rain. Seo Yul, worried, brought her his umbrella to send her back home. His tone and emotions screamed his feelings.
3. “I want to tell her that I loved her a lot”
Naksu might be officially dead but his first love is unforgettable to him. He confessed his past feelings to Naksu (now in MuDeok’s body) beautifully.
4. When he caught MuDeok in her fall
MuDeok was too drunk and tripped. Seo Yul was there to catch her in a heartfluterring embrace.
5. Seo Yul’s temptation & the illusion
MuDeok was trapped in some magic mirror and the illusion of her was visiting people thinking about her. That includes Seo Yul who showed the deepness of his feelings. Team Seo Yul was served until he realized that she was only a dangerous illusion.
6. Smart Seo Yul helping MuDeok
The crown prince (Shin SeungHo), Park DangGu (Yoo InSoo), and Seo Yul all wanted to help MuDeok’s succeed in her exam. They all thought hard but Seo Yul was the smartest. What a brain!
7. Fighting the soul shifter
MinHyun’s favorite scene in “Alchemy of Souls” is this scene where he is fighting a soul shifter in episode 18. Since his character suits him to perfection and his acting is good (especially his eyes’ expression of feelings), Hwang MinHyun’s popularity is on the rise. He even reached over 4m on Instagram.
