There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Evenin is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Brazil and is a fan of ONEUS and more particularly of KeonHee! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?Hey! My name is Evenin 🌼, I’m 27 years old and I have a Brazilian fanbase dedicated to KeonHee! How and when did you enter the fandom?My husband is a dance teacher and recommended me to listen to ‘LIT’ as the music and choreography were very good. A while later we decided to watch “Road to Kingdom” together and we really cheered for ONEUS! The group won my heart as soon as I saw them, they were promoting ‘A Song Written Easily’. What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?ONEUS won my heart as soon as I saw how the members interacted with other people and with each other. They are lovely and each member has a unique and charismatic personality, I learn a lot from their history and what they have to say. Besides, it’s a group of unparalleled musical quality, I was in love with ‘ASWE’ from the first moment I heard it! Who caught your attention at first and why?KeonHee was the first member that caught my attention because his reactions are spontaneous, cute and sincere. I smiled along with him and got emotional along with him, he seemed like someone I would like to have as a friend. When I heard KeonHee singing and performing, I thought he looked like a prince, and at that moment I knew there was no going back! hahahah Who is your bias, and why?My bias is KeonHee! KeonHee is someone who has a heart as big as his talent. A sensitive person who is always willing to openly talk to fans about their feelings and help us with friendly words and advice. I admire KeonHee a lot for his sincerity and for how much he tries hard in his professional life. KeonHee is an idol who cares about the smallest details, and whenever I see him talking about how much he’s trained his expressions, dance and vocals, I feel like I should work hard too, it’s really inspiring. KeonHee has a sweet yet powerful voice, and I’m always mesmerized by his stage presence and ability to express himself while dancing. I could spend hours talking about everything I like about him! hahahaha I would also like to say that he has a very unique personality! KeonHee can speak in a serious and focused way in interviews, as well as being funny and very cute. He’s someone really reliable, so you have to know that you will never get bored watching Lee KeonHee! Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?I recommend ‘LUNA’ as the title for anyone who wants to know about ONEUS, it was a memorable comeback for our fandom as it brought us the first WIN. For me ‘LUNA’ is a poem in song form so this is my recommendation. ONEUS’ B-sides are very diverse so I will recommend a personal taste of mine, from the “Devil” album: ‘Youth’. It’s a calm and addictive melody song where we can enjoy the vocals of all the members of ONEUS. ‘Youth’ was also one of the B-sides that got a Japanese version. Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?I could recommend many things about KeonHee, but recently I want to recommend and ask for a lot of support for the new show on The K-Pop channel called “This is Mukbang”. KeonHee is a very charismatic person and also a food lover, and for having such a good taste, he ended up captivating many people and earning a Mukbang Show himself. I’m sure many have tasted and heard about the famous KeonHee Sauce! Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?Among the ONEUS content, I recommend watching the US Records videos on the group’s official channel, so you can hear some of the members’ vocal versatility. ONEUS also has ‘Stage Break’ videos on 1theK’s channel with lots of amazing dance performances, and in addition, they also have original variety shows where we can see their captivating personality, “Show me the MWM” on 1theK’s channel, ‘ONEUPS’ on the official ONEUS channel. Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?Personally, my favorite song is the B-side ‘Blue Sky’ from the “Fly With Us” album. ‘Blue Sky’ has lyrics that I can relate to many areas of my life and people. The song is about getting back up after a rough ride and flying through the blue sky. ONEUS was one of the pillars in my life that helped me find a light and fly again in this sky that is life. I have a small tattoo of KeonHee’s line in the song, it means a lot to me. “날아갈게” (I’ll fly). Are there any words from the members you would like to share?ONEUS members always get the message out about you living your life your way, respecting yourself, your choices and taking good care of yourself at all times. I believe that the lyrics of ‘Incomplete’ well represent the feeling that the members always try to convey to us. “I can’t stop I can’t fall behind the others I always have to overcome it Stop the stereotypical words I wanna go my way Leave behind the endless help Now I’m standing at the starting line A little bit further than others It doesn’t matter if I start late It’s okay if it’s not perfect”. What is your best souvenir with your favorite group until now?One of my favorite memories was during last year’s KeonHee’s birthday. He was really grateful for the love he received from fans and opened a live to say thank you. There was a moment in the live that I asked him what was his birthday wish, he answered in the sweetest way, that he wishes the best to the members and fans. The way KeonHee expressed his feelings was touching, I was touched and really cried together with him that day. Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why.“Amazing Saturday”! It’s a show that I love, it’s very fun and dynamic, it perfectly matches the fun side of KeonHee. KeonHee is really a fan of this show, so it would be an amazing experience to see him fulfill that desire to participate. Have you ever made a new friend because of K-Pop?Many! To be honest, lately my closest friends are all TO MOONs! I’ve met a lot of amazing friends who live all over Brazil and luckily I’ve had the opportunity to meet some of them. I’m really looking forward to a concert in Brazil so I can finally see everyone together! Can you share a fun episode that only fans from your fandom know to readers?There was a moment where a funny situation happened, LeeDo started clinging to the members and they passed LeeDo from one to another, calling him a “ghost”, until the ghost arrived at the live that SeoHo was doing. The live was only voice so we were just listening while all the confusing situation happened, it was very funny! At one point, they turned on the camera, and everyone was hugging each other while singing HAHAHHAHA A TO MOON made an animation video of the whole situation! What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?As I said before, ONEUS helped me to rise above the difficulties. As an adult married woman and mother, it was a surprise to find comfort and strength in the ONEUS members. I believe that because they are people with an open heart and always talk humanly to the fandom through messages, lives and songs, I was able to be inspired by all of them to live my life in a better way. HwanWoong inspired me to return to dancing and today I am a teacher, just like KeonHee, with his huge heart, helped me to better understand myself and to respect the different sides that I have inside me, not only as a mother or wife, but as a human person with strengths and weaknesses. I believe ONEUS has that kind of positive influence on TO MOONs. What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?The best part of being a fan is cheering for all the comebacks and achievements! It’s really nice to be surprised by new concepts, hair colors, music styles, new content. Not knowing what’s ahead is something that gives butterflies in the belly! But luckily ONEUS has the title of ‘Stage Genius’, so no matter the concept, we’re always pleasantly surprised. In fact, I’m living this moment of euphoria now, because ONEUS just announced a comeback!!!!! Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?I don’t believe this happens. Both ONEUS and the fandom are very similar, all our actions and achievements are very satisfying so we are happy with everything that has been happening in these years! You can also add a message/letter to your bias or show it on a messagee scrapbook.KeonHee, you always sum up my feelings really well when you say “항고사 (Thank you always, I love you)”. I will be eternally grateful that you called my attention and entered my life, through you I am a TO MOON and I can live a lot of happiness with ONEUS. You’re like a friend I can trust, and I want to be that kind of fan for you too. I will support you in everything that makes you happy, so just live your life with no regrets and being yourself because you are amazing. Thank you for everything.
